The FiliuS project team

The Europäische wirtschaftliche Interessenvereinigung „BRUT“ (EWIV) institutionalizes the cross-border cooperation of the Niederrheinische IHK Duisburg-Wesel-Kleve zu Duisburg, the Kamer van Koophandel Centraal Gelderland, the Technologie-Zentrum Kleve and the Universitair Bedrijven Centrum Nijmegen.

BRUT (EWIV) is the applicant of the INTERREG IIIA - project "FiliuS; Frühindikatorenliste für unternehmerische Strategiekontrolle" and thereby responsible for the project management.

Beside FiliuS, BRUT (EWIV) also coordinates the projects "Technologische Innovation und New Business-Entwicklung; Technologie Netzwerk Rhein/Waal" and "Regionale Hanfkette zur Textilproduktion". Additionally, BRUT (EWIV) provides the TechNet as a web platform, being a free of charge cross-border cooperation database for German and Dutch enterprises and other institutions. TechNet provides a facility to find cooperation partners on both sides of the border and to obtain information about the participating companies. Furtheron, the home page informs about important cross-border events and helps in booking them.

The Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftsförderung Duisburg mbH, in short GFW Duisburg, cares about the economical concerns of the town of Duisburg. It is an independent GmbH, organised as public private partnership. Half of the partners' interests is held by the town of Duisburg, the other half by various enterprises.

the functions of the "Wirtschaftsförderung" may be divided into two areas: First, the GFW Duisburg promotes the business location Duisburg to new companies, project developers and investors to foster new engagements and settlements. The "Wirtschaftsförderung" aids by means of its widely ramified nework and its good contacts to make visions real. Accordingly the tasks of location marketing and acquisition form the focus at international real-estate fairs.

Second, the GFW Duisburg cares about the already settled companies in the town area: It is a partner for the small and medium-sized enterprises and offers comprehensive services to make entrepreneurs feel comfortable at their locations in Duisburg. It offers the procurement of business and bureau areas and estate, promotion soliciting, the build-up of networks, and the organization of meetings like branch conventions.

The Kamer van Koophandel Centraal Gelderland aims at supporting the business interests of trade, industry, crafts and service providers in its chamber region. It is an organisation from business for business. For business, because its engagement creates a climate of support for hard-working entrepreneurs and their employees, helping them to operate successfully. From business, because the chamber offers their proposals in coordination with numerous entrepreneurs' associations and the directorate mirrors the regional business structure, consisting both of employers and employees. So the Kamer van Koophandel Centraal Gelderland stands in the center of business activity. It is familiar with the working schedules in the regional companies and always acts cautious and far-sighted in its most important areas of activity, as internationalization, economy of knowledge, targeting, and innovation.

The Kamer van Koophandel Centraal Gelderland fosters the regional business development by fulfilling the following three duties: First, it cares for the implementation of various acts, like the commercial registry act. The commercial registry provides up-to-date and reliable information on registered companies to entrepreneurs and all authorized instances. Second, the Kamer van Koophandel supports business by a variegated choice of information meetings and vocational trainings, mainly consisting of primary services on the topics business start-up, import, export, enterprise buy-in and buy-out, and legislation. The third main area of activity is the regional promotion and the creation of opportune boundary conditions in cooperation with its partners. Accordingly it advises various public instances even without explicit request on behalf of ongoing business relevant topics.

The Niederrheinische Industrie und Handelskammer represents the concerns of about 53,000 member companies fro industry, trade and services in Duisburg and the regions of Wesel and Kleve. As opinion leader it persecutes the goal to foster the regional enterprises sustainably by advocating free enterprise, tax reductions, bureaucracy limitation and improved local conditions.

Business success is primordial. In procuration for the state the IHK executes mandatory regulations — practically and efficiently. As service provider it supports the enterprises by comprehensive service offers. In its dialog with politics it lobbies for the concerns of the companies, including a strengthening of the Niederrhein location. Here the IHK develops strategies to "strengthen strengths" and to enable fresh business activities. So it is a driving force in the structural change of the region.

Das Starter-Zentrum Dieprahm bietet innovativen Gründerinnen und Gründern preiswerte, flexibel nutzbare Büroflächen ab 3,50 €/qm für eine Startphase bis zu 5 Jahren. Das Haus ist im Rahmen der Gründerinitiative NRW gefördert und ein Joint Venture von starken Partnern wie der IHK zu Duisburg, der Sparkasse Duisburg, der Stadt Kamp-Lintfort und dem Institut für Mobil- und Satellitenfunktechnik (IMST).

Das Technologiezentrum Kleve ist Projektpartner in einigen deutsch-niederländischen INTERREG IIIA-Projekten, die die Firma BRUT (EWIV) beantragt hat und koordiniert. Es handelt sich dabei um die Projekte "FiliuS; Frühindikatorensystem für unternehmerische Strategiekontrolle", "Technologische Innovation und New Business-Entwicklung; Technologie Netzwerk Rhein/Waal" und "Regionale Hanfkette zur Textilproduktion". Im Technologie-Zentrum Kleve befindet sich auch die Kreishandwerkerschaft Borken, die das Projekt "Kompetenznetzwerk NL/NRW" bzw. INTERNED durchführt und bei dem das Technologie-Zentrum Kleve ebenfalls Projektpartner ist, ebenso wie in dem Projekt "WISTAB – Wireless Stabling".
Im Technologie-Zentrum Kleve stehen insbesondere für startende Unternehmen günstige Büroräume zur Verfügung: Auch viele niederländische Unternehmen haben dort ihre erste deutsche Filiale eröffnet. Das Technologie-Zentrum Kleve zeichnet sich somit durch ein umfangreiches deutsch-niederländisches Netzwerk aus.
